The Bookish Snob Tag

Hello guys! I just love book tags and I always search for fun ones to do on my blog. I don’t know who created this tag (and no one tagged me), but props to Lynn because I first saw this tag on her blog.

Am I a book snob? I don’t think so but that’s for you to decide with the help of these questions:

FORMAT SNOB: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?

I usually read mostly e-books just because physical books are quite expensive in my country. However, I’m beginning to get more and more into hauling books, and just a few days ago I went ham on Book Depository’s website. If you’d like me to do a mini haul please let me know. I still think I’d choose e-books because if I want to read something, I quickly buy it and can start reading it in a matter of minutes.

ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?

Absolutely not and I very rarely do that. The only time when I read the book before is when it comes to books I’ve already read before the movie was published.

SHIP SNOB: Would you date or marry a non-reader?

I have a secret. In all my years of dating, I’ve been with gamers, chefs, (many) jocks and others, but I’m sad to admit I’ve never dated a reader. To rephrase Cher, dating a reader isn’t a must, it’s a luxury.

GENRE SNOB: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Non-Fiction. I just don’t really like or read that genre. There are some books of that genre I’m interested in reading but when it comes to Nonfiction I just don’t feel the need to read it.

COMMUNITY SNOB: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Contemporary romance. I must say I’m not big on contemporary romance that much anymore but there are definitely a lot of good books in that genre. To be honest, when I read contemporary romance, I know I’ll probably forget about the plot in a matter of days, but I’ll surely have a good time while reading it.

SNOBBERY RECIPIENT: Have you ever been snubbed for something that you have been reading or for reading in general?

I talk about books that I read to my family all the time (I can be a bit annoying sometimes but nevermind) but whenever I say I’m reading Paranormal or Fantasy none of them are into it. Some even say that I shouldn’t spend time on reading it because it’s not ‘educational’ and I can’t learn anything from it but I’m a Sagittarius so I don’t really care about what others think lol.

That’s all for this tag. I want to finish out this post by doing a poll so I invite you all to help me figure out what kind of posts you want on my blog. Thank you so much!

  1. Haha – I’m a Sagittarius too so I pretty much don’t mind what others think either. Non-fiction – yes, I could definitely drop it because I don’t really read any so it wouldn’t be missed at all. I chose romance because I’m not so much into it in term of the whole product, I don’t mind some romance mixed in with the rest of the story though, in fact I enjoy it.
