Title: Undercover Bromance (Bromance Book Club #2)
Author: Lyssa Kay Adams
Description: Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.
Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a pastry chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.
RATING
I was really craving a cutesy little enemies-to-lovers so I decided to pick this up. I’ve already read the first book in this series and I loved it, but this one was honestly nothing special.
This is a very mild enemies to lovers, featuring the infamous Braden Mack and Liv (who is Thea’s sister, if you’ve read the first book). Liv is cold hearted pastry chef who has her life together and doesn’t trust men one bit. Hovever, after a big incident she loses her job and is determined to ruin her disgusting, predator boss. And Braden Mack, the leader of Bromance Book Club, is determined to help her.
I did like their story however I felt as if the big fights were so unnecessary and were just brought to the story to make things more interesting. To me, they were over the top and I didn’t like it.
I absolutely loved Mack. He’s so pure hearted and kind and honestly super hot. This is one of the first books where I’ve felt that the male main character liked the female character more so it’s interesting. I didn’t really like Liv. She was honestly so selfish and annoying. She was acting as if everything was about her. I wish the author made her a bit less annoying because honestly she doesn’t deserve Mack. She’s the reason why I gave this book 3 stars.
In conclusion, this was an okay book but nothing special. It would’ve been way better if the main character was different because this book had so much potential.
I decided I will be skipping the third book, which features Alexis and Noah because they’re not really my cuppa tea but I will 100% be reading the fourth book about my favorite character, The Russian and his wife. I can’t wait!!

Great review! You’ve convinced me that I made the right choice to not pick this up cos I absolutely could NOT stand Liv in the first book and can’t fathom torturing myself reading a whole ass book about her. 😂 I’m so sad that it’s Mack’s story as well though cos I liked his cheekiness in the first book and wanted to read about him! Ah well, don’t sound like I’ll be missing out that much!

You made the right choice because she’s obnoxious 😂 and it’s a shame, just as you say bc Mack is such a cool guy 😔
