Hello everyone! I wasn’t tagged by anyone to do this post but when I saw it on Pernille @ Nily‘s blog, I was interested and decided to do it myself. We all have different reading habits but I never really talk about mine. So if you’re interested, keep on reading!
BOOKMARKS OR RANDOM PIECE OF PAPER
Definitely random piece of paper. I have so many bookmarks but I feel like they’re never near when I need them and I’m to lazy to get up and get them. That’s why my books are full of papers, pens and even tissues (clean ofc lol).
STOP READING RANDOMLY OR STOP AFTER A CHAPTER/CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PAGES
I always stop reading after finishing a chapter. I can never stop randomly because I’m so forgetful and it takes me a while to remember what happened before.
CERTAIN PLACE AT HOME FOR READING?
I only read in my room in my bed because when I’m home it’s always loud everywhere, and when I’m at college it’s the only place where I can lie down (small dorm problems lol).
EAT OR DRINK WHILE READING?
Sometimes I drink coffee because I do like reading in the morning, but I never eat. Although I always eat while blogging.
MUSIC OR TV WHILE READING?
Nope. I get easily distracted so if it’s not dead silence, I don’t really read.
ONE BOOK AT A TIME OR SEVERAL?
Although I have like 4 books in my currently reading shelf on GR at the moment, I don’t read them all at the same time (to be honest I haven’t picked those up in months). If I read several books at time I get confused and the plots mix up.
READING AT HOME OR EVERYWHERE?
Although I love reading in my room the best, I read everywhere because it saves a lot of time and I get to do something productive instead of just sitting in my car or bus an scrolling through Instagram.
READING OUT LOUD OR SILENTLY?
I read in my head and I don’t think I’ve ever read out loud. I study out loud and it helps me learn stuff but I feel like it would be so time consuming to read books out loud.
DO YOU EVER READ AHEAD OR SKIP PAGES?
Of course I do, and who doesn’t? I never skip full pages but I do read ahead especially if it’s a long boring paragraph. I quickly skim through it, sometimes not even that and I find myself not understanding the dialogue so then I have to go back and read what I just skipped haha. Sometimes I feel bad but if it’s a bad book, then it’s okay for me to skip through (Yes Boys of Brayshaw High, I’m talking about you here).
BREAKING THE SPINE OR KEEPING IT LIKE NEW?
Breaking the spine must be the most satisfying book-related thing most of us do, myself included. That’s one of the reasons I love those big floppy paperback more than hardcovers. But I don’t do it if the book is not mine of course, that’s just shitty.
DO YOU WRITE IN YOUR BOOKS?
Nope and I never will. Maybe if my handwriting was a bit prettier I would but since it’s nothing special I don’t. I sometimes annotate my Kindle books, though. I leave some notes to help me while writing my review, but then I always forget to go through them while writing.
Hope you enjoyed this post and I tag you all to do it. Of course if you have any comments or suggestions leave them down below.
